Rational Decision Matrix
Use weighted scoring to compare any kind of decision: jobs, colleges, apartments, tools, vendors, investments, and more.
How To Use This
- Step 1: List options (one per line).
- Step 2: Add criteria and assign importance (weight 1-5).
- Step 3: Score each option (1-5) for each criterion.
Framing rule: phrase every criterion so higher score is better. Example: use "Short commute" (not "Commute time").
Scoring scale in matrix: 1 = poor fit, 3 = acceptable, 5 = excellent fit.
Step 3: Score Options
Build a matrix to start scoring.
